iCloud & Apple ID Basics – 8/20/21
In our current era of computer use you'll often hear a reference to "the cloud." Although the expression itself sounds quite vague and insecure ("..so my data is just out there?"), cloud technology – and specifically, iCloud – is actually a powerful tool to both secure your data and to make it easily accessible on any of your devices. In this class we will go over:
what it means when something is "in the cloud."
how data is stored when using the cloud (i.e. when you can expect something to be locally-available or not).
the difference between local storage and cloud storage.
how iCloud keeps our data safe.
how to see what specific content is being synced through iCloud.
what the Apple ID is and how to view it.
how to access your subscriptions and other important information through your Apple ID.
In order to get the most out of this class it is recommended that you have:
an Apple computer running macOS Catalina or Big Sur
an iPhone or iPad running iOS 14 or later
